PARANORMAL ACTIVITY – Haunting Movie, Scariest Film of the Year?

Trailer ahead! — Looks like Paramount may be counting on word of mouth and a grassroots campaign for their upcoming release PARANORMAL ACTIVITY. From viewing the trailer it looks like maybe they got at least some of it right. The official synopsis – “After a young, middle class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban “starter” tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.”

Paramount will premiere the film at a midnight screening at the Austin, Texas “Fantastic Fest” on September 24th with concurrent screenings in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta and Seattle.

According to a releaase from the studio, the film will receive midnight “sneaks” starting September 25 at midnight in the following cities and theater: Austin (Alamo Draft House); Seattle (Neptune); Ann Arbor, Michigan (State); Durham, North Carolina (Southpoint 16); Baton Rouge, Louisiana (RAVE Mall of Louisiana 15);Boulder, Colorado (Cinemark 16); Columbus, Ohio (Studio 35); Orlando, Florida (AMC Universal Cineplex); Madison, Wisconsin (Marcus Eastgate 16); Santa Cruz, California (Del Mar 3); State College, Pennsylvania (Premiere College 9); Tucson, Arizona (El Con); and Lincoln, Nebraska (Ross Media Center).
Additional midnight sneaks will follow on September 26, and October 1, 2 and 3.

    This one looks like it could be good. I’m needing an authentically scary movie around now after seeing so many duds. Love the idea of midnight screenings!
